Description: 1959 Bill Russell NBA All-Star Award (Russell Collection Photo Match). Unique figural trophy as given to Bill Russell for his participation as the starting center for the Eastern Conference in the 1959 NBA All-Star Game. The game was played at Olympia Stadium in Detroit with the West defeating the East by a score of 124-108. Russell had a fine overall game collecting 9 rebounds and scored 7 points for the Eastern Conference team. Trophy displays a silverplated figural basketball player positioned atop a columnar plinth and mounted on an alabaster base. Electric clock is mounted to the right side of the base with matching alabaster casing. Inscribed silver placard on front, "NBA East-West All-Star game Detroit-Jan. 23, 1959 Bill Russell". Trophy remains in exceptional original condition with minimal handling wear. Included is a modern copy of a vintage photograph picturing the offered trophy displayed in the Russell home along with his other awards.
