Description: Significant May 26, 1999 Bill Russell Boston Celtics retired jersey number tribute display. Framed piece (20"x37") presented to Bill Russell at "The Bill Russell Tribute" during which the Boston Celtics retired his number for the second time. Focal point is a small sized version of the team's retired number banner which hangs in The Garden. Mounted above are metal placards bearing the team logo and an additional that reads "For your banner years in Boston and your tenacious style of play...For your invaluable role as the ultimate team player...For your unparalleled contributions to Boston Celtics history...We thank and congratulate you." Smaller placard at bottom reads "Presented by the Boston Celtics on the occasion of The Bill Russell Tribute, May 26, 1999, FleetCenter." Among the more important player presented team issued pieces of its' type which we have handled. In fine overall condition with a small flaw to the lower left corner of frame.
