Description: 1920 "Parkesburg Iron Company" photographic scrapbook with baseball content. Large format (16"x12") scrapbook with leather lined covers is gilt lettered "Parkesburg Iron Company 1920" on the front. Contained within are over (200) photographs related to the Company including approx. (180) which show their baseball team and/or opponents or related scenes. Known then as the "PICOS" the team would play other local town teams and also barnstorming games against Negro League and Major League opponents. Included are team photos, shots of individual team members, game action shots, crowd/fan views, and others. Included is an image Herb Pennock taking batting practice in Red Sox uniform/sweater, photograph of Negro League Hilldale batter from behind, (3) images which are noted as showing "Penna Giants" (these appear to be Negro League/African American players), photos from a Red Sox exhibition game (including multiple player at batting practice and a shot of Joe Bush), and a few images of Phillies players.
