Lot Number: 208

Description: Rare late 1920s Louisville Slugger advertising display with mention of Babe Ruth. Heavy stock 8.5"x11" advertising piece done to promote the "Louisville Mascot" line. As a new innovation it relays that "careful examination of bats used by Ruth, Gehrig, Hornsby, and other great hitters" has allowed for them to identify the optimal area for hitters to connect bat to ball for home run hitting. This new line of bats would have a "Home Run Spot" mark impressed in the barrel. "New old stock" appearance with just a hint of light wear which is largely confined to the corners/edges. Exceedingly rare with this being the first example we have seen and possibly a unique survivor: EX
