Description: Exceptional Johnny Bench autographed professional model catcher's mitt c.1979 (Johnny Bench Collection). Rawlings model RL-P catcher's mitt as used by Bench retains its original manufacturer's stampings on interior and Rawlings red label on backstrap. "Bench" written in faded black marker on back of pinky finger with "5" on the back of the webbing area. Evident use throughout presenting in fine original condition inclusive of the custom hand padding insert showing extensive soiling/use. Signed on the interior in blue sharpie, "Johnny Bench Game Used 1979" with some slight 'bleeding' to the ink. The offered catcher's mitt has been consigned directly by Johnny Bench and is only the second of which we have offered from his collection. the first of which set a record price in our Nov. 2020 sale. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions (glove), LOA from JSA (autograph), and letter of provenance from Johnny Bench: EXEstimated Price Range: ($15,000-$30,000)
