Description: Hank Aaron Atlanta Braves professional model hat c.1971. Classic style hat done in deep blue has "A" team logo embroidered on front. "New Era…Pro Model" tag appears on the interior band and only a small portion of the size tag to one side remains. Number "44" is written under the brim in faded marker and a small identification card stapled to the top relays that the hat dates to 1971 and was obtained on June 7th of that year. An included letter of provenance from Louis Kendrick relays that he obtained the cap at that time and it remained in his collection until 2001. Some additional information on Kendrick's background, and his long time friendships with Umpires and clubhouse attendants, will also be furnished. Aaron was in his 18th Major League season and would add (47) homeruns to an already impressive career total in 1971, the most he hit in any single season. A desirable piece of game equipment with strong attribution to the Home Run King in his prime.
