Description: 1953 Red Schoendienst St. Louis Cardinals professional model home jersey (SGC/Grob: Excellent/Very Good). Cream colored flannel has the "Cardinals" team name/logo embroidered across the front and number "2" on back in red on blue felt. Rawlings tag appears in the collar above size (42) tag. "Schoendienst" is chain stitched on the front tail along with "3XX." The outline of a "5" can be seen before the "3" (the red stitch having fallen out) denoting year, 1953. Dry Clean Only tag is inside. Strong use and some general age related wear throughout with some minor spotting/discoloration and pilling of fabric. The zipper pull is no longer present. A desirable and rare jersey as issued to one of the premier players in Cardinals history.
