Description: 1912 L1 Helmar Leathers #135 Walter Johnson. Desirable oversized (approx. 10"x14") leather premium issued by Helmar in exchange for coupons packaged with their "Turkish Trophies" line of tobacco products. The coupons could be exchanged for a T3 Cabinet Card (10-15 coupons), S81 Silk (20-25 coupons), or an L1 Leather (35-50 coupons). This trio of premiums are among the most sought after tobacco related issues in the hobby and the L1 Leathers are by far the rarest. Well defined image of Johnson appears on leather which has scattered wear including a few scuffs, scrapes, and surface impressions. There is a pinhole at the top and some tape/residue in (3) places and loss where it was removed in another: FREstimated Price Range: ($3,000-$5,000)
