Description: Rare and important 1912 L1 Helmar Leathers #127 Ty Cobb. Desirable oversized (approx. 10"x14") leather premium issued by Helmar in exchange for coupons packaged with their "Turkish Trophies" line of tobacco products. The coupons could be exchanged for a T3 Cabinet Card (10-15 coupons), S81 Silk (20-25 coupons), or an L1 Leather (35-50 coupons). This trio of premiums are among the most sought after tobacco related issues in the hobby and the L1 Leathers are by far the rarest. King among subjects in the series is Ty Cobb with this being one of only a handful of documented examples and the first to have been offered in some time.
