Description: 1939 Negro League All-Stars autograph display. Framed display (20"x23") includes a black and white photo showing players who participated in the East-West game which took place at Comisky Park along with descriptive text. Matted below are signatures of (6) of those shown including Jose Fernandez (notably rare, fountain pen on an Official 1947 dated document, a copy of the front of which is included); Willie Wells (ink, part of a 1972 dated handwritten note on what appears to be an index card reading in part, "...Base ball was very good to me..."); Leon Day (ink, closely cropped); Buck Leonard (ink); Bill Byrd (ink); and Bill Wright (marker). Signatures rate 7 to 9 out of 10 and are likely secured in place with conservation tape that could be removed by a professional if so desired.
