Description: Magnificent early 1940s Kansas City Monarchs vs. Chicago American Giants advertising broadside. Large format piece done on 21"x27" heavy stock to promote "Championship Negro Baseball" with the game to be played at Sportsman's Park on July 4th. Of particular note is the player illustration and "Satchel Paige Will Pitch" identifier. Illustrator "Spencer T. Banks" is noted within the work at lower left. Displays in outstanding condition with pinholes at corners and there are a few minor wrinkles/creases which are visible only upon close examination. Of the many baseball advertising broadsides which we have handled from this time period the offered example is far and away among the very best with regard to content and eye appeal.
