Description: Exceptional 1970 Ernie Banks autographed Chicago Cubs professional model road jersey (SGC/Grob Superior)(MEARS Authentication A10)(Banks Provenance)(500 HR season). Offered is one of the finest Ernie Banks game jerseys of the small number of surviving population. Grey flannel jersey retains its original "Chicago" in blue tackle twill along with "14" on the front. Back of the jersey shows matching number "14" in blue as well. Strip tag inside collar with chain stitched "14-70-1-40" number/year/set/size" designation having "1970" chain stitched on tail front with Wilson manufacturer's label. The jersey exhibits superb evident use and wash wear throughout while retaining very strong original color and eye appeal. Cubby bear insignia patch on left sleeve and Banks has signed the front in black sharpie, "To Bernie Ernie Banks". The jersey is accompanied by a copy of 1991 typewritten letter issued and signed (copy signature) by Banks which remarks about the jersey, in part, "....was issued to me by the Cubs and was worn by me during the 1970 season."
