Description: Fine Yogi Berra autographed professional model baseball bat c.1962 (PSA "GU 9.5") with Berra signed letter of authenticity. Outstanding Berra game bat dating to the twilight of his legendary career which saw him anchor the Yankees through a remarkable span of (16) seasons in which they won (10) World Series Championships. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat with Berra facsimile signature impressed in the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 31.8oz. Model number "R43" is factory stamped in the knob which has a very small filled in mounting hole. Outstanding use is evident throughout with ball contact and stitch marks covering the hitting surface along with a few cleat marks. In addition there is some minor grain swelling, due to repeated contact, on the reverse of the barrel. A handle crack has been expertly repaired (with little to no overt evidence remaining). Signed in black marker and inscribed "My 1962 Game Used Bat, Yogi Berra" rating 8/9 out of 10. An included letter dated August 5, 2004 and signed "Yogi Berra" (ink, 9/10) reads in part, "The purpose of this letter is verify and authenticate my 1962 baseball bat that I used as a member of the New York Yankees..."
