Description: 1949 George Kell Detroit Tigers professional model road jersey with related hat (SGC Very Good/Excellent). Rare 1940s era Tigers grey flannel jersey with original "Detroit" team name across the front and matching number "21" on the back. MacGregor/Goldsmith manufacturer's label affixed inside the collar area with size 42 indicator. "Set 1 1949" flag tag found inside the tail front. Jersey shows very fine evident use including areas of light to moderate soiling. The collar area has some rust residue likely from a metal hanger along with a few other similar small spots to the front. Missing one button with three others having been replaced. The jersey also includes a Detroit Tigers professional model hat c.1940-50s which was found with the offered jersey and is almost assuredly George Kell's by attribution. Hat shows evident use and retains only a portion of its original interior manufacturer's label. One of only two George Kell game jerseys of quality that we are aware of with the offered specimen dating to the prime of his Hall of Fame career.
