Description: Outstanding 1983 Johnny Bench Final Home Run autographed and inscribed professional model baseball bat (PSA/DNA GU 10) . Louisville Slugger 125 model P89 bat with Bench facsimile signature in the barrel measures 34.25" long and weighs 32.1oz. Player number "5" is written on the knob in vintage black marker. Uncracked with outstanding use evident on the upper hitting surface which is covered with stitch and contact marks. A light coat of pine tar remains on the handle. Signed and inscribed "Johnny Bench Sept. 17, 1983 Last Home Run!" in marker rating 8/9 out of 10. The home run was the 389th of his career and in dramatic fashion he put it over the fence in front of (53,790) fans who had packed Riverfront Stadium for "Johnny Bench Night." Based on comparison to period photographic images this precise bat was matched to the game before the September 17th game prov providing further corroborative evidence of use by Bench. One of the finest Bench bats to have entered the market with note to level of use displayed and direct first hand provenance to so notable an event and milestone home run.
