Description: Mel Ott/1936 World Series related lot from the Vin Scully Collection. On October 2, 1936 the New York Yankees pummeled the New York Giants in Game #2 of the World Series by a score of 18 to 4. A young fan by the name of Vin Scully was nearby the Polo Grounds that day and became sympathetic to the Giants plight. A love of the game of baseball grew from that fateful day leading to Vin Scully's retirement from the game on October 2, 2016, eighty years to the date of that World Series game. Included is an original ticket stub to the 1936 World Series Game #2, 1933 Mel Ott #207, and 1960 Fleer Mel Ott #36 all of which were displayed within Vin Scully's personal office.
