Description: Significant 1957 Red Barber autographed hand written letter to Vin Scully. Poignant and heartfelt letter penned from Red Barber to his protégé Vin Scully expressing deep pride in the work Scully had accomplished thus far in his career. Barber writes, in part, "I'm completely proud of you, and especially so as you earned it for yourself-you've got a long way to go-but you'll make it. Red". Blue ink content and signature both rate 9 out of 10. Back of the letter has some minor scrapbook paper residue at top and bottom edges. Incredible piece of vintage correspondence providing a portal into Barber's great admiration for Scully, to whom he had given the start to his baseball broadcasting career.
