Lot Number: 300

Description: Scarce 1903 Royal Rooters World Series photograph. Exceptional large format sepia toned mounted photograph showing a raucous scene in the stands of Exposition Park during what is believed to be Game Six of 1903 World Series. The Americans would emerge victorious behind the pitching of Bill Dineen tying the Series, played against Pittsburgh, at three games each. Several uniformed players can be seen in the foreground (tentatively identified as Dineen and Chick Stahl) with a contingent of Boston+s famed -Royal Rooters+ filling the seats above. 11+x14+ framed for display with some light visible toning and a few scattered spots of surface soiling/residue being the only wear worthy of note. A notably significant photograph as taken during the first World Series is one of the larger we have handled from this era and one only a handful of pieces offering so well defined a glance into the game as it was during the early days of the 20th Century: Apparent EX
