Description: Cache of (13) Royal Poinciana Hotel Negro League team glass plate negatives c.1910. Important early photographic record of the Negro League team which was sponsored by the hotel and saw a slew of noted figures passed through their ranks including Ben Taylor, Candy Jim Taylor, and Spottswood Poles. While none have been identified, these negatives show uniformed players both posed and in action. It should be noted that early 20th Century material of this type is virtually non-existent and when Negro League images do surface they are typically of teams and not individual players.
