Description: Rare 1902 Philadelphia Giants Negro League "batting order" letter. September 2, 1902 dated typewritten letter to Nat C. Strong has been signed by Walter Schlichter with content relaying the Philadelphia Giants batting order for an upcoming game. The Giants were in their first season of operation and would evolve into one of the more potent early Negro League teams claiming (5) Championships from 1904 to 1909. On the back of the letterhead is a printed on team photo with those shown including important early player Sol White (also noted as batting leadoff in the order listed on front). Wear throughout includes fold lines, toning, and some chipping and small tears. There is a strip of black paper residue along the upper back edge: FR/GDEstimated Price Range: ($500-$750)
