Lot Number: 218

Description: Outstanding 1948 Lou Boudreau Cleveland Indians professional model home jersey (SGC/Grob Very Good/Excellent(Family letter of provenance)(AL M.V.P. Award winning season). Cream colored flannel jersey has the "Indians" team name across the front and number "5" on back. The number and team name lettering appear to been changed/restored in the period based on uncommon stitch pattern. Given the original source of the Boudreau family itself and the fact they are period materials we would deduce that this is simply a period team execution but it is noted for accuracy. A Chief Wahoo patch is on the left sleeve. In the collar are a Wilson tag with adjacent size "42" flag tag and a "Boudreau" embroidered strip tag. A "48" year tag is on the inside front tail. In outstanding overall condition with appropriate useage and wash wear. An exceptional example dating to the season in which Boudreau won the American League Most Valuable Player Award and led the Indians to a World Series Championship. Includes LOA from SGC/Grob (Very Good/Excellent) along with a signed letter of provenance from Boudreau's son James: EX
