Description: Ernie Lombardi attributed professional model/quality catcher's mask c.1930s-40s. Nokona brand mask displaying use along with some general age/storage related wear has some loss to leather lined padding. Mounted within an 18"x23.5"x5.25" shadowbox which also includes an ink signature (8/9) and small block of descriptive text. An included letter of provenance from noted collector, Tom Eakin, relays that it was obtained from the Lombardi Family along with the Reds Hall of Fame plaque likewise offered in this auction. A well sourced piece of game equipment as relates to one of the great catchers of the period and a Reds fan favorite.
