Description: Ty Cobb professional model baseball bat c.1925-28 (PSA/DNA GU7). Louisville Slugger 125 model bat dating to the final period of Cobb's illustrious career remaining in uncracked condition with exceptional use. Bat measures 34 1/2" long and weighs 35.7 oz. with classic Cobb use attributes including grain swelling (professionally restored) to the front and right barrel, ball marks, scoring area on the right barrel, and strong presence of gripping substance on the handle area. Numerous cleat marks are found at the end of the barrel area as well from Cobb's fabled spikes. The labeling period may be pinpointed to 1925-28 when Cobb served the Tigers as both player and manager before finishing his career with the Philadelphia Athletics for 1927-28 seasons. Cobb's legacy as one of the game's fiercest competitors still resonates with baseball fans and historians alike with his game used bats remaining one of the most desired of any Hall of Fame member.
