Description: "The Babe Bows Out" original photograph by Nat Fein c.1948 (PSA/DNA Type III). Babe Ruth+s personal copy of the original image captured by New York Herald Tribune photographer Nat Fein. The image was taken on June 13, 1948 during ceremonies to honor Ruth which would be his last appearance at the hallowed stadium which he helped to immortalize. The photograph beautifully depicts the sobering celebration of Ruth's life and career with the New York Yankees while within the ravages of throat cancer that would take his life just two months later. Yankee players, both current and past, are visibly lined up on the first base line along with several photographers against a backdrop of thousands of fans who had packed the stadium to catch a glimpse of the Babe. Image quality is very fine with some minor surface creasing to a few areas. 8"x10" matted and framed. Includes letter of provenance from the Ruth family and has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (Type III) with special Ruth Collection titling: EX-MT

Estimated Price Range: ($2,000-$4,000)
