Description: Late 1930s Mel Ott scrapbook with a selection of outstanding photography. Large 13"x16" scrapbook with "Melvin Ott" name gilt lettered on lower front corner has been filled with material related to the 1937, 38, and 39 seasons. Found among the newsprint and publication clippings are (44) photographs with some outstanding examples incl. 6.5"x8.5", 8"x10" and 11"x14" portraits; 8"x10.5" image of Ott's batting grip; 7"x9" image of Ott and Lou Gehrig at the 1936 World Series; 8"x10" full length batting pose from 1939; c.1939 8"x10" fielding pose; a pair of small snapshots; and others.
