Description: Significant 1959 Billy Pierce Chicago White Sox professional model World Series home uniform. Pinstriped flannel jersey has the "Sox" team logo on left front chest and player number "19" on back. Number also appears on the left sleeve. "Pierce" embroidered strip tag in the collar and an additional tag on front tail reads, "1959 - WS." Wilson manufacturer's tag above notes size, "42." Matching pants, likewise by Wilson, have similar "Pierce" and "1959 - WS" strip tags in the waistband. Both pieces remain in immaculate condition showing the light wear one would expect given brief use in only (3) home games. The 1959 White Sox team brought Chicago their first pennant since 1919 with Pierce a key member of the pitching rotation. These uniforms, as issued for use specifically in the World Series, are notably rare with only one other example that we can document having sold at auction. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions and letter of provenance from the Pierce Family: EX
