Description: Rare 1945 Billy Pierce Detroit Tigers World Championship trophy. Handled Sterling Silver bowl has been engraved on the lid, "To Walter W. Pierce, member Detroit Tigers 1945 World Champions, from Detroit Baseball Fans". Marked "Sterling" on both lid and base which weigh a combined 3lbs 7oz. A significant team issued presentational piece as relates to a fabled Championship season. Stands 12" tall with a touch of light tarnish and wear. One of only a handful of examples that have entered the marketplace and perhaps the second or third which derives from a player: EX/MTEstimated Price Range: ($5,000-$7,500)
