Description: 1944 Billy Pierce Esquire All American uniform, jackets (2), and related material. Interesting archive of material as related to the well known game which featured some of the best high school talent in the country highlighted by Pierce and future Hall of Famer, Richie Ashburn. Includes flannel jersey with "All American" across the front and "East 7" on back. On the left sleeve is a colorful face patch above "Esquire" in blue felt. Right has a Physical Fitness patch above the year, "1944." Wilson and embroidered "Bill Pierce" strip tag are in the collar and matching pants are similarly tagged; red jacket by Wilson ("Pierce" embroidered tag inside) has "Esquire" across the front and face patch below. Back reads "All American"; lighter weight jacket by Davega with "All American 1944" lettered on back; period autograph album with signatures and handwritten addresses from many of the game participants incl. a 16/17 year old Richie Ashburn; original game program; several letters sent to Pierce related to the game incl. "To Bill, Good Luck, Eleanor Gehrig (Mrs. Lou)" signed note on Esquire stationery; and a photo of players, and Managers, Connie Mack and Mel Ott, lined up in The Polo Grounds.
