Description: 1961 Roberto Clemente National League Batting Championship presentational trophy. Fine quality figural trophy primarily of marble and alabaster construction as presented to Clemente by the Cerveceria India Inc. brewery company from Mayaguez, PR. Trophy stands an impressive 26" tall with white alabaster columnar design atop a three tiered marble plinth with two applied brass placards. Placards are inscribed, respectively, "Campeon Bate .351 Liga Nacional 1961 R.Clemente" and "Roberto Clemente Campeon Bate=Liga Nacional, Cerveceria India, Inc. Mayaguez PR". Two figural winged goddess finials are positioned at the trophy base with matching batter at the apex of the trophy. Appropriate light to moderate surface wear to the bronze wash with impressive overall visual qualities.
