Description: 1952 (Walter) Newt Joseph taxicab driver's license and earlier period "Monarch Taxi" photograph. Original heavy paper stock document as issued on February 27, 1952 has been signed in fountain pen, "Newt Joseph" rating 8 out of 10. Period portrait photograph of Joseph is attached at upper left and relevant information has been written in throughout, presumably by the Commissioner of Licenses whom has signed at lower edge. Wear and moderate soiling with series of errant pencil lines; sepia toned panoramic photo (approx. 8"x20") is captioned at lower left, "Newt Joseph's Monarch Taxi Cab Co." and shows several well dressed drivers and 1920s-30s era automobiles. Image has been stored rolled for decades and has resulting waviness to paper along with tear at left edge and areas of discoloration/soiling.
