Description: 1978 Baseball All-Star Game ring (at San Diego). Sixteen future members of the Baseball Hall of Fame were on hand to play the first All-Star Game in San Diego at which Gerald Ford threw out the first pitch. Original ring as presented to Bob Wirz with top face done in deep black faux stone accented by CZ at center of a baseball diamond. Lettered around the edge "Baseball All Star" in relief alternating with impressed "American" and "National" League names. Left shank has MLB logo in relief with "Wirz" name bar above and the year "1978" in a flag below. Right has incised rendering of San Diego Stadium along with the Padres mascot. Interior band is marked "LGB PT." Ring is size 10 and displays a touch of light wear: EX/MT-NMEstimated Price Range: ($500-$750)
