Description: 1977 Baseball All-Star Game ring (at New York). Last played there in 1960, the game returned to Yankee Stadium in 1977 and would not again be hosted in The House That Ruth Built until 2008. Though the National League won, the Yankees would go on to win the World Series thus earning the rare distinction of being one of only (3) host teams to have done so. Original ring as presented to Bob Wirz done in appealing two tone silver/gold colored design. Top face features an attractive blue stone set within top face. Beveled upper edge is lettered "Baseball All Star" around the outside and "American National" inside. Left shank has name "Wirz" lettered into upper bar with MLB logo below and the year "77" noted at bottom. Right has a relief of the New York City skyline at top with Yankee Stadium below. Ball being hit out bears impressed "NY" logo. Interior band has "B" manufacturer's stamping. Ring is size 9 3/4 and displays a touch of light wear: EX/MT-NM
