Description: Babe Ruth "Old Gold Cigarettes" tri-fold advertising display c.1930s. Highly visual large format store advertising display remains one of the great baseball player endorsed pieces of the era. It features a full body pose of Ruth in New York Yankees uniform with testimonial statement and facsimile signature to the side. Comprised of three panels which measure a full 38"x52" when arranged side by side, the sides are currently affixed to larger central section by means of white linen conservation tape. Wear throughout (heavy at areas) inclusive of some chipping, mild to moderate toning, wrinkling/bubbling to surface layer, and some creasing which is largely in the form of horizontal crease approximately 1/3rd of the way down from top. Professional restoration and inpainting have been performed at numerous places and has returned a fine level of eye appeal to the piece. Water staining, which is visible from the back, does not appear on front; likely a result of the work done. Very rare and highly desirable: Displays VG/EXEstimated Price Range: ($5,000-$10,000)
