Description: Rare Babe Ruth "King of Hitters" large format photographic display c.1921. Period 12"x19.25" photographic composite commemorating Ruth's back to back record home run hitting seasons of 1920 and 1921. Features a pair of Ruth images set within patriotic backdrop and titled below his portrait "King of Hitters New York American League Baseball Club 1921." At right is an image of Ruth in uniform with name below and reading "1921 Worlds Record Home Runs 59." Left hand notes his 1920 performance "1920 Worlds Record Home Runs 54." "F.A.George Photo Co. Boston" Studio marking at lower left. Light age toning/silvering which is very slightly more pronounced at areas with little to no mentionable wear otherwise save for a few small surface imperfections. Housed in original period frame. The first example we have seen and quite possibly unique. Given Ruth's general level of notoriety it is exceptionally rare for a piece to surface which has not previously, to the best of our knowledge, been offered in the marketplace: Strong VG/EX-EXEstimated Price Range: ($3,000-$4,000)
