Description: Ted Williams custom made fly fishing rod by Paul H. Young c. 1947. Exceptional vintage bamboo rod retaining its two original shafts each appropriately marked and dated by Young. Marked in black ink near the handle area, "8' 3.83 oz. 14/64 Fer 1947 Paul H. Young Detroit". Paul H. Young hallmarks are additionally marked on the metal end cap as well. Paul H. Young is widely regarded as one of the finest craftsman of bamboo fly fishing rods in the history of the sport noted for his innovative design and exceptional execution. Handsome custom made rod which was no doubt among the favorites owned and used by Ted Williams.
