Lot Number: 304

Description: Rare 1967 Boston Red Sox "Impossible Dream" Opening Day full ticket and World Series Game #7 full unused ticket. The 1966 Boston Red Sox team had finished in a detestable ninth position in the American League. As such, it was hard for Sox fans to imagine that any great changes would come in the 1967 campaign. This was no ordinary team however, as the "Impossible Dream" 1967 Red Sox team captured the pennant on the final day of the season going from 9th to 1st in the span of a year. Offered are the two scarce tickets that bookend that magical season to include: April 11, 1967 Boston Red Sox Opening Day full unused ticket. Ticket remains fully intact with some creasing to several areas along with some relatively minor surface wear: VG. Scarcely offered full unused ticket as issued for the seventh game of the 1967 World Series played at Boston's Fenway Park. The Red Sox "Impossible Dream" season of 1967 ended in disappointment as Bob Gibson dominated the final contest striking out ten batters en route to a 7 to 2 victory. Ticket presents very nicely with outstanding sharp corners and fresh original surface: NM-NM/MT
