Description: Hank Thompson professional model baseball bat c.1950-1960 (PSA GU 8). Louisville Slugger 125 model baseball bat with "Hank Thompson" facsimile signature in the barrel end measures 34" long and weighs 34.4oz. Model number "S2" has been stamped in the knob. Light evident usage wear inclusive of ball transfer and stitch marks. PSA has further defined the dating to 1955-1956 based on specific imperfections within the centerbrand. Thompson was one of the select group of African American players to help integrate baseball during the 1947 season joining the St. Louis Browns in July of that year. He then made his way to New York where he became a mainstay in the Giants lineup from 1948 until 1956. He was a key member of the 1951 National League and 1954 World Series Championship teams.
