Description: Scarce 1870 "New York Fashions" color baseball lithograph. 19th Century baseball themed display piece featuring a half dozen men modeling period uniforms with a game in progress as the background. Titled "New York Fashion for March 1870" within lower border and marked "published by E.Butterick & Co." Appears almost like new when viewed from a small distance. A touch of professionally executed restoration has been performed to a fill in approximately two dozen small scattered holes (approximately pinhole size) and press light creasing, the majority of which is situated within the border and not visible under the matting. Currently displays a crisp central graphic with very light age toning. 16.25" x 12.25" matted and framed. Exceptionally rare with less than a half dozen examples known to exist and one of the premier early baseball display pieces: EX/MT with note to restorationEstimated Price Range: ($10,000-$15,000)
