Description: Utica Base Ball Club folk art decorative walking cane c.1887. Handsome 19th century cane with hand carved and incised baseball related decoration. The cane was presented to David Dishler, who was the owner and manager of the Utica baseball Club, in honor of their 1886 International League Championship. The cane features various decorations including a baseball game scene, Masonic symbols, baseball bat, floral bouquet, and a Spalding baseball symbol. Uncommon and substantive 19th century baseball folk art object in fine original condition. Exhibited in "The Perfect Game: America Looks at Baseball" exhibit at the American Folk Art Museum: EX
