Description: Rare c.1939 Hillerich & Bradsby advertising piece with (8) Hall of Famers including Babe Ruth. Visually imposing advertising display done to promote Hillerich & Bradsby was likely issued c.1939 and pictures Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Eddie Collins, George Sisler, and Nap Lajoie. Their portrait likenesses appear on either side and there is an image of the entrance to the Baseball Hall of Fame (as it appeared in the period) at the center. Noted above is a roster of players and executives who were members of the 1936 through 1939 Induction classes and were also named to “Louisville Slugger’s Honor Roll.” Currently housed within a 23”x30” frame, it appears to have been done on heavy stock with evident flaws limited to some surface wrinkles at lower right and a crease on the left edge (unobtrusive but worthy of mention). This is the first example of this particular advertising display which we can recall handling and it ranks among the more appealing which the famed bat maker has issued: VGEstimated Price Range: ($3,000-$5,000)
