Lot Number: 81

Description: Extremely rare Whitey Ford "Big Yank" advertising piece c.1960s. Point of sale promotional piece done in the early 1960s when Ford and fellow Yankees Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris were pitchmen for a "Big Yank" line of men's clothing. Printed on glossy stock and die-cut in glove shape with a portrait of Whitey Ford at the center. Issued with a matching half affixed along the top (which would have been folded over to offer the same design on either side) however only this front half remains. It was presumably meant to be positioned atop a rack of the brands' clothing in store. Measures 10.75"x10.5" and in fine overall condition with just a hint of light wear. An exceptionally rare piece which was acquired by our consignor at great expense and the first example we can recall offering or seeing at auction: EX/MT

Estimated Price Range: ($1,500-$3,000)
