Description:Extremely rare Roger Maris "Big Yank" advertising piece c.1960s. Point of sale promotional piece done in the early 1960s when Maris and fellow Yankees Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford were pitchmen for a "Big Yank" line of men's clothing. Printed on glossy stock and die-cut in glove shape with a portrait of Roger Maris at the center. Issued with a matching half affixed along the top (which would have been folded over to offer the same design on either side) however only this front half remains. It was presumably meant to be positioned atop a rack of the brands' clothing in store. Displays at greater level than technical grade which is due to some wrinkles and one more pronounced crease at lower right. Measures 10.75"x10.5". An exceptionally rare piece which was acquired by our consignor at great expense and the first example we can recall offering or seeing at auction: GD
