Description:Exquisite and rare "Reach Sporting Goods" double sided metal advertising sign c.1910. Striking period display is surely among the best preserved examples of only a select few which remain. Die-cut in heavy gauge metal which is color lithographed identically on both sides and intended to hang outside a shop by use of the flange on straight edge. "Reach Sporting Goods" company name is done in red and appears on a green background; large circular portion resembles the famed red and blue stitched Reach Official American League baseball. A patent date of July 13, 1909 is noted within the artwork however the balls which were eventually issued bear a later printed on date. This suggests that the sign was created at some point in between. Sign measures 18.25"x13.5" and is in exceptional condition with just a touch of light scattered wear (most notably a few scratches, one being around 4" long).
