Description: 1866 "Book of American Pastimes" by Charles Peverelly. Early hardcover work is considered one of the first "histories" of baseball published and includes around (180) pages dedicated to the subject. Interestingly, even at this early date, it references baseball as "The National Game." Mild exterior handling and shelf wear. Some interior pages are loose and the binding has split (right at the start of the baseball section) however the covers remain firmly affixed to the bulk of the contents. There are some small scattered flaws to pages including some pencil notations and very small edge tears.
