Description:Reach brand 8-Spoke leather football helmet c.1910s. Well preserved early head harness style helmet is comprised of (8) "spokes" which emanated from an octagonal piece of leather on the top. Front center spoke is marked "Reach" with"1" model number and is affixed (via elastic) to a leather band which rings the helmet. This band serves as anchor point for the other spokes and ear and neck flaps. Use and some general age related wear are evident throughout (most pronounced on two of the back spokes) however the helmet is well preserved overall. Interior padding is intact and the chinstrap is present (modified in the period with section folded over and sewn): VG-EX
