Description: 1914 Boston Braves "World Champions" leather with Johnny Evers autograph. Impressive leather pillowcase was done in the period to commemorate the Boston "Miracle" Braves World Championship season. A large team photo appears at the center and the last name of each player shown is written on in unknown hand. Remarkably, it has been autographed by Hall of Famer Johnny Evers over his likeness (fountain pen rating approx. 2/3-3/4 out of 10, faint but discernable upon close examination) and again by fellow player Paul Strand (ink, 8/9 out of 10). Presently housed in a tasteful 29.5"x33.5" frame and it appears, aside from the aforementioned ink writing, to be in very strong condition with little mentionable wear aside from (1) missing leather strand/tassel. One of only a few baseball related pieces of this type which was produced in the period and it is hard to envision another which retains a stronger printed image and shows such limited age.
