Description:Pioneer Base Ball Club medal by J.A. Bolen c.1861. Early baseball themed medallion is struck in white metal and it believed that (125) or fewer were produced in the period. One side features a batter likeness with "Pioneer Base Ball Club" lettered around the edge. "J.A.Bolen" mark appears at the bottom. Opposite has their 1858 date of founding and notes their use of Hampden Park as home grounds. Surfaces display some nice toning and there is some light/mild handling and age related wear.
