Description: Very Rare Willard Hershberger (d.1940) single signed baseball (Ball EX, Sig. GD/VG) Spalding Official League baseball has been signed on the side panel in vintage ink, "W.Hershberger." Signature rates 4/5 out of 10 having faded through the years but remains visible and contrasts well with ball surface. Ball itself displays an even tone/coloration and retains very bold stampings. Hershberger remains a tragic figure in baseball history having committed suicide during the 1940 season. One of only (2) or (3) single signed baseballs which we are aware of: Ball EX, Sig.
