Description: 1893 Polo Grounds Boston vs. New York Opening Day invitation (VG).Original 5"x7.5" invitation which reads "Opening of the Championship Season of Professional Base Ball - Polo Grounds April 26th, 1893 - The National Exhibition Company requests the pleasure of your presence at the Opening Game between the Boston (Beaneaters) and New York (Giants) Clubs for the Championship of the National League American Association at the Polo Grounds, 157th St and 8th Avenue on Wednesday, April 26th, at 4 P.M. (stamped "Thursday April 27" over top of the date). Exhibits moderate wear including vertical fold lines, surface wrinkling, and light soiling.
