Description: c.1920s Leather helmet painted blue and silver with stacked leather Spalding cleats (GD) Early 4-strap leather helmet with the body painted a very dark/deep blue and there are silver accents on the straps/bands. No visible markings and there is use and general age related wear throughout. One ear flap is only affixed by a few threads and there appears to have been a repair to the area above. Rarely seen with painted surfaces; pair of similar period cleats with Spalding labels inside. Use and age related wear and one has a portion of the upper ankle material cut away. Stacked leather nubs on the underside are well worn. Note - these were possibly intended for use in soccer or another sport: GDFinal Bid: $61.00
